The cover of the album is made of black recycled leather, so-called leather fiber.
This material is made from leather processing offcuts, leather fibers and a binding agent (natural latex), somewhat similar to papermaking, and is therefore cheaper and at the same time more ecologically sustainable than regular leather.
The appearance, smell and feel are very similar to real leather.
